Greetings Dear Ones,
The Real New Year is the Spring Equinox
Most of humanity tends to think of January 1st as the new year. While according to certain man-made-calendars, our new year begins on January 1st each year, astrologically and as per the actual seasonal/planetary cycles it is actually more accurate and appropriate to think of the Spring Equinox as the real new year. Spring Equinox, which is usually around March 21-23rd of each year, is when according to planetary cycles the star of our solar system, the Sun enters into the astrological sign of Aries. The beginning of the actual year.
So, while we tend to set our annual intentions, prayers and goals on January 1st, the more appropriate and more effective time to set our goals is the Spring Equinox. That's when our goals and prayers are naturally in alignment with the planetary cycles. And when the intentions are held and released at the Spring Equinox, the natural cycles of beginning new goals/projects/ventures support our goals. And there is much greater chance for natural forces to be aligned to support our intentions.
Fall Equinox
It is the Fall Equinox (today, Sep 23, 2011) when it is time to harvest what we sowed at the Spring Equinox. Fall Equinox is when the Sun enters into the astrological sign of Libra, and the nights and days are equal again. This is good time to balance our lives; again. Spirit and nature are reflecting back to us the need to take stock of our lives and balance anything that is out of balance.
It is time now to reflect on our creations in the last six months. What goals and intentions have manifested in our lives? What has not? How has the last 6 months affected your life and life path? This is a good time to contemplate. Ideally 1-2 weeks leading up to the Fall Equinox, and during the next couple of weeks, this is a great time to reflect deeply. What do you still long for? What intentions may have become modified or not desired any more?
We all have busy lives. And contemplation of our lives at a deeper level usually slips into the cracks of time, and demands of our daily lives. But it is very useful to make effort, to slow down enough to allow the deeper thoughts, fears, insights and confusions to surface for deeper contemplation.
Taking time for reflection now will greatly assist you to see what is still true for you? What needs to be let go of. What needs to be renewed as new intentions?
Find balance during this time. Initiate change during this time of taking in and letting go.
The equinox star chart suggests that the great transformation of antiquated belief systems is the major theme right now. Pluto is encouraging all of us to dump antiquated financial, industrial, and political systems; and personal aspects ready to let go.
Blessings,
Sandeep
